WHAT IS THE POLIOPLUS SOCIETY?

The PolioPlus Society recognizes Rotary members and friends of The Rotary Foundation who contribute $100 or more each Rotary year to the Polio Fund until the world has been declared free of the Wild Polio Virus. Membership may be discontinued for any reason.

The PolioPlus Society is recognized and administered by districts but is not an official Rotary Foundation program. It has, however, been around since 2012, initiated in many districts over the years. Now, with Polio literally just a plane ride away, many districts including district 7610 are embracing this effort. Its purpose is to identify, engage, and thank members who have the ability and desire to make an annual gift and join with others around the world to help eradicate this terrible disease from the face of the earth.

HOW CAN I JOIN THE POLIOPLUS SOCIETY?

WHAT IS A POLIOPLUS SOCIETY CHAIRMAN?

A district PolioPlus Society Chairman is appointed by the district governor to honor new society members and promote engagement in the society. These chairmen can use giving and recognition reports from My Rotary to identify new and potential society members. To honor new members, they can order recognition pins and prepare the recognition certificates.

HOW ARE SOCIETY MEMBERS RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS?

New society members are presented a certificate and a PolioPlus Society lapel pin at a district or club event or forwarded via the postal service. However, the PolioPlus Society Chairman and/or the district Foundation Committee Chairman visits the clubs to honor new members whenever possible. We want you to be properly recognized for your generosity and commitment to polio eradication.
