Our Causes
Eradicating Polio
Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a paralyzing and potentially deadly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5. The virus spreads from person to person, typically through contaminated water. It can then attack the nervous system.
CART
The CART Fund provides funds for cutting edge research to cure Alzheimer’s disease.
CART started in 1996 with Rotarians voluntarily emptying their pockets and purses of change at weekly meetings.
Rise Against Hunger
We are in our second year of Zone 33/34’s Initiative to Feed 10 Million! As the world’s premier Volunteer Service Organization, we will once again focus on supporting and caring for our neighbors by feeding at least 10 Million Meals during this Rotary year.
Providing Clean Water
We support local solutions to bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to more people every day. We don’t just build wells and walk away. We share our expertise with community leaders and educators to make sure our projects succeed long-term.
Flags for Heroes
Nearly 6 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation. We expand access to quality care, so mothers and their children can live and grow stronger.
Peacebuilding
Today, over 70 million people are displaced as a result of conflict, violence, persecution, and human rights violations. Half of them are children.
We refuse to accept conflict as a way of life. Rotary projects provide training that fosters understanding and provides communities with the skills to resolve conflicts.

Community Service
We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and create opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old. We also strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities.
Community Education
More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.

Ending Human Trafficking
Combating human trafficking, a scourge which impacts an estimated 40 million people worldwide, is the goal of the Rotary Action Group Against Slavery and several cause-based Rotary clubs. Of the many global issues, human trafficking is one of the toughest to combat. It’s estimated that more than 40 million people are trafficked across the world.
