Tappahannock Rotary Club Raises Funds Via “Donations for Teachers Challenge”
In concert with Rotary’s September theme of Basic Education and Literacy, the Tappahannock Rotary Club (TRC) challenged local businesses and organizations in Essex county to support Essex County Public School (ECPS) teachers as they prepare for the new school year.
Too often teachers must go “out of pocket” to provide a productive learning environment for students. TRC’s “Donations for Teachers Challenge” netted a total of $2150.00, which will help teachers purchase supplies and other items for success in the classroom.
Contributors included the Tappahannock-Warsaw Moose lodge, the Rappahannock Times, TRC and from local citizens. Pictured are various ECPS teachers, with Bill Croxton (Moose lodge & TRC), Victor Burrell (TRC President), and ECPS Superintendent Dr. Harry Thomas. Kudos to TRC Rotarians Erin Kelley and Bill Croxton for championing this effort.
