2024-25 Rotary Youth Contests

The Speech, Essay, and Music contests are perfect ways to involve your club with the youth in your community.
TODAY is the day to assign a Youth Contest Chair for your club and to get started with your club timeline to run these contests. Below is general information about each contest.
SPEECH
The topic for the Speech contest is the RI President’s 2024- 2025 theme, “THE MAGIC OF ROTARY.”
The contest is for students in grades 9-12.
Awards are First ($1000), Second ($500), and Third ($250).
Clubs should submit their winning speech to their Area Governor (AG) for the Area Contest
AG entries are due to the District Speech Contest Chair by April 11).
The District-level contest will be on April 19, 2025.
ESSAY
The topic for the Essay contest is Rotary’s “FOUR WAY TEST.”
This contest is for students in grades 7-8.
Awards are First ($750), Second ($500), and Third ($250).
Clubs should enter their winning essay directly to the District Youth Contest Chair by April 4, 2025.
MUSIC
The music contest is for SOLO VOCAL, INSTRUMENTAL, or KEYBOARD
Open to students in grades 9-12.
Awards are First ($1000), Second ($500), and Third ($250).
Clubs should submit their winning music entry to their Area Governor
AG entries are due to the District Music Contest Chair by April 4, 2025.
Participating in the Youth Contests is as EZ as 1-2-3:
- STEP 1: Assign a leader from your club to run your contests.
- STEP 2: Contact your schools’ Guidance Counselors, English or Music Department, Speech, Drama, Debate Clubs, Music Department, and Interact Club. Don’t forget Homeschoolers in your community.
- STEP 3: Collect your entries and hold your contests.
Youth contests are a great opportunity for students and YOUR CLUB. PLUS, they are a lot of fun! Please feel free to contact me with any

All participants are invited to attend the Rotary Youth Conference on April 26, 2025, where the winners of each contest will also be invited to
perform their entries in their respective contests.
